Korea Foundation – Whangarei Art Museum Report

Jeungseung Pole commissioned by WAM at Whangarei Library entrance

Stage II of Centennial Development Project at Rotorua Museum

Government Bath Buildings, Rotorua

When Rotorua's grand new Bath House opened in 1908 the building was only partially complete.

Now, thanks to an ambitious plan, the original footprint of the nationally significant building will be completed by 2010.

Stage I, the reinstatement of the Viewing Platform on the northern roof is already drawing high praise from visitors, and Stage II will transform art spaces in the North Wing.

First Centre for Art Research at the University of Auckland

The University of Auckland has created the first Centre for New Zealand Art Research and Discovery based within the National Institute of Creative Arts and Industries. A key aim of the Centre is to develop, support and promote scholarship, learning and community engagement in the visual arts.  The Centre began managing and coordinating the Gus Fisher Gallery (www.gusfishergallery.auckland.ac.nz), the University Art Collection and the Window project (www.window.auckland.ac.nz) in January 2006.
